Sorry for not mentioning this earlier - on a desktop, if you visit the site for the first time you’ll see a blue ‘Sign Up’ and ‘Log in’ button.
On a mobile web browser however, only the blue ‘Log In’ button is visible. But if you click that blue ‘Log In’ button, there’s a tab where you can create an account.
